The Holy Bible
When I’m not watching television or chasing after my kids, I love to read. My all-time favorite book is the Holy Bible. Yes, I know it is 2010; I still love this book and here is why. This book has it all. Crime and punishment; War and peace; Love and adultery- where else will you ever find all of these in just one place. One of my favorite stories is when an old man and his young son hike up a mountain. The old man has planned to murder his son- all because of a dream. If that catches your interest read it in the book of Genesis – Chapter 22 Another favorite story is the story of a poor carpenter and his pregnant girlfriend. From the beginning their relationship is unique. The trials Joseph faces before he weds Mary; and the birth of her very special son. I read the books of Luke and Mathew a lot. There are so many more stories in this book that every time I read from it, I read something new. The way it is written lets your imagination add to the enjoyment. I am not a preacher and I don’t go to church as I know I should, but this book answers my questions, gives me advice and soothes me when I am upset. It gives me inspiration to be the best person that I can possibly be and to go on living a meaningful life. How many books have you ever read that can do this and more? For these reasons the Holy Bible will always be my favorite book. (c) 2010 Jennifer Lesher-Arellano |
